Sep 26 | Fantasy Fashion Show by Stella Bonds @ the Colombian Ambassador’s Residence
Presented by the Colombian Peace Fund.
The Colombian Peace Fund (CPF) is a non-profit organization under the Title 501(c) (3) of the United States IRS Code, organized by Colombians, Colombian-Americans, and other supporters living in the United States. The purpose of the Foundation is to increase awareness of the Colombian humanitarian crisis brought by the approximately four (4) million internally displaced persons, as a result of decades of internal conflict, and to raise funds for the benefit of those internally displaced families and communities in Colombia. The disbursement of funds is done through a competitive grant writing process with awards made to non-profit organizations that are actively providing direct services to those internally displaced persons. The selection process takes place after receipt of applications by the different provider organizations. To qualify for funding, non-profit organizations are required to submit proposals in the areas of health services, education, work force development, and housing and shelter. One of the strategies promoted by CPF is to solicit supporters to dedicate and donate one day of their salary for the relief of displaced persons who desperately need assistance in the aforementioned areas of emphasis.
